Our approach in preparing this report turns out to be somewhat unique according to the experts in the Economic Development strategy world. We took a look back to see just what had been accomplished from the orginal plan. That assessment led us to the conclusion, reviewed in a recent public meeting, that 4 of the 5 orginal goals were substantially accomplished. The 5th goal, although only partially accomplished, yielded substantial benefit to the community and region. In addition, this is apparently the unusual part, we reviewed the actual results for the Target Clusters and Industries identified. We also obtained the coopreration of the Charlotte Regional Partnership and the North Carolina Department of Commerce in an effort to more closely align our efforts with the state and the region.
